What do I need to book a car on Volocar?

To rent a car on Volocar, you must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid driver’s license.
However, please note: Some partners may require you to have held your license for at least one year. In certain cases, a young driver fee may apply for renters under 23 years old.

These conditions vary by vehicle and partner, and you’ll see all specific requirements clearly listed on the car’s page before completing your booking. The registration process is simple and fast — just create a Volocar account, upload your driver’s license, and you’ll be ready to hit the road.

How does insurance work?

You don’t need personal insurance to rent a car through Volocar.

Volocar offers two flexible options to protect you during your trip: Zero Deposit Option (included by default for most rentals). With this option, you can rent without paying or blocking any deposit upfront. In case of damage, you are only responsible for the excess, up to the amount listed as the guarantee for that car — but you only pay if damage occurs.

Full Protection Plan (optional) For extra peace of mind, you can choose the Full Protection Plan, which provides: Full coverage for damage during the rental period Support and assistance throughout your trip

Please note: The Full Protection Plan does not cover: Fuel shortage or refueling fees, excessive dirt or cleaning charges, smoking inside the vehicle, drop-off in an unauthorized location.

All insurance and coverage details are clearly displayed on the car’s page before booking, so you can choose the best option for your trip.

Can other people drive a car that I rented?

Yes — multiple drivers can be allowed, as long as they meet the requirements and are registered through Volocar.

The primary driver (the person who makes the booking) can request to add an additional driver. Most of our partners offer one additional driver at no extra cost, while some may apply a small fee.

All drivers must: Have a valid driver’s license; Meet the minimum age and license duration requirements for the selected vehicle

To ensure a smooth process, we recommend adding additional drivers before your trip starts. You’ll find all relevant conditions and any potential fees for extra drivers clearly displayed on the car’s page before completing your reservation.

What does No Deposit mean?

No Deposit means you don’t have to pay or block any money upfront when renting a car.
With Volocar, many vehicles can be booked with zero deposit, giving you full flexibility without freezing funds from your account.

If something happens during the rental, you’ll only be responsible for the excess amount, as shown in the car’s guarantee — but you’ll only pay if damage occurs. No blocked funds. No hidden fees.

What payment methods are accepted on Volocar?

Volocar accepts most major credit and debit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.

Some partners may also accept cash payment at pickup, but please note that an upfront partial payment is required to confirm any reservation. The required amount depends on the total value of the booking and will be clearly displayed during checkout.

Checks and full cash payments are not accepted for online reservations, and a car cannot be held without the initial payment.

What is Volocar’s cancellation policy?

You can cancel your reservation and receive a full refund if you cancel at least 30 days before the start of your rental.

If you cancel between 30 days and 24 hours before pickup, your payment will be converted into Volocar credit, which you can use for future bookings. If you cancel less than 24 hours before the scheduled pickup time, no refund or credit will be issued.

All cancellation terms are clearly displayed during checkout and in your booking details.

What are the cleaning policies on Volocar?

Our partners are instructed to deliver each vehicle clean, disinfected, and ready to drive. In return, we kindly ask that you return the car in reasonably clean condition.

While we understand that minor dust or road use is normal, excessive dirt, trash, stains, or strong odors (like smoke) may result in additional cleaning fees, which are clearly outlined in each car’s terms.

Taking a few moments to return the car tidy helps us maintain a premium experience for everyone.

Can I get my car delivered to me?

Yes — most Volocar partners offer free delivery at their rental office or at the airport.

If you’d like the car delivered or picked up at a different location (such as your hotel, accommodation, or another address), a delivery fee may apply. This fee is set by the partner and depends on the pickup and drop-off locations.

How can I drive unlimited miles during my trip?

Some partners offer unlimited mileage for your trip, while others set a daily distance limit. On each vehicle’s page, you’ll find the allowed distance listed under “Distance included.”

If you’re looking for vehicles with unlimited mileage, simply use the “Unlimited distance” filter when browsing available cars.

Be sure to review the mileage policy before booking, as exceeding the included distance may result in additional charges, as shown in each listing.

Are there cars available near the airport?

Yes — many cars listed on Volocar are available directly at or near the airport, making it easy to pick up your vehicle shortly after you land.

This option is perfect for travelers who want to save time and avoid the hassle of airport shuttles or external transfers.

Simply check the vehicle details to see if free or paid airport delivery is offered by the partner — everything will be clearly displayed before booking.
